Location - Hemel en Aarde in the Summer
Stonehaven Eco Cabins and Farm is nestled at the foot of the Babylon Toren Mountain range, located in the world-renowned Hemel en Aarde Valley in the Cape Winelands. It is no surprise that Hemel en Aarde and surrounding areas have become one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Africa, particularly in the December Summer holidays. Explore nature's best with beautiful, pristine beaches in Hermanus, award-winning wineries and restaurants and various walking and hiking trails. The vacation ‘gees’ or joy that encompasses the Overberg areas during the festive season is unmatched and will give your vacation the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.
Design of the Cabin houses
This biodynamic escape offers eco cabin houses that are effortlessly luxurious yet simply styled, drawing inspiration from their natural surroundings. Stonehaven Farm is a small, restful, healing space to re-energise and spur creativity. Our Heaven Eco Cabin House Accommodation is ideal for a family vacation. Reminiscent of a chic farmer’s cottage it exudes style and home comforts. Our other two Eco Cabins, Earth and Stars offer self-catering accommodation nestled within the tall fynbos and indigenous vegetation found on the farm, ensuring seclusion and privacy. All our Overberg accommodation options are equipped with Wi-Fi, bath towels and crisp white linen, as well as your very own wood-fired Kol-Kol hot tub!
Eco friendly cabin house Accommodation in the Overberg
Enjoy a fantastic getaway in nature, with a good conscience. Stonehaven’s owners made the decision to preserve the indigenous plant and bird life. No chemicals are used on the farm or in the eco cabin houses. The farm itself remains as close to its original fynbos landscape as possible, with our farm manager treating Stonehaven as a living, breathing organism, inspired by permaculture practices. Our eco cabins were built and designed in the most sustainable and eco-friendly way possible.
Cape floral kingdom - species of fynbos
Our cozy cabins are all placed in the middle of the original fynbos landscape. Visitors to the farm will be inspired by the 300 million-year-old Proteas while meandering through the farm’s Protea Walk. Fynbos is the most studied vegetation type outside of Europe, with many scientists such as Charles Darwin being enthralled by the diversity and long lifespan of the plant species. The King Protea, named because it resembles a crown, is the largest of all proteas in the Cape Floristic Region.
Spoilt for choice with activities on the farm
Enjoy a range of activities while exploring all Stonehaven has to offer such as mountain biking, hiking, swimming and kayaking in the De Bos Dam, and lounging in your own wood-fired hot tub! Chat to your hosts to organise a private garden massage or picnic under the trees.
